At Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, we believe that faith formation is an important life-learning process and everything we do in religious education is exemplified through the liturgy and the church. Through our participation in the liturgy, church life, and community, faith formation is made possible.
Because of this, attendance in church and class will be a deciding factor in a student's commitment to receiving a sacrament. Being involved and committed is an important part in building a strong faith and spiritual foundation. Parents are the primary catechists for their children therefore, we believe that parent involvement in their children’s faith journey is important. We encourage you to participate fully in their faith journey by being active members in the community and church (participating in church ministry, attending adult faith formation classes, participating in our service projects and retreats, volunteering for Vacation Bible School, volunteering as a catechist etc.) Adult classes are offered at the same time as religious education classes (classes are free for adults). By you being an example as an active member in the community you are encouraging your child to become stronger in their faith.
Standards for curriculum are set by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops with recommendations for approved texts that we must follow. In selecting the appropriate curriculum, we follow the guidelines from the Archbishop of Santa Fe and the office of Religious Education and Youth Ministry at the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. The curriculum the catechists use is approved by the pastor and the Directors of Religious Education. We require that every student in religious education is taught the essentials of our Catholic faith and our treasured Traditions as well as the sacramental and spiritual aspects of our faith.
The last day to register will be August 15th, we will not be accepting registration after this date because students fall behind and it becomes overwhelming on the catechist when students are continuously being added.
