Parish Outreach Program
The Parish Outreach program, developed by Dr. Christine Spahn encompasses all aspects of the Papal encyclical of Deus et Caritas and the ancient evangelical counsels for outreach to the parish, and in the spirit of the Norbertine presence in New Mexico, to the marginalized of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.
Parish Outreach provides direct service in legal aid and counseling to the poor and indigent.
The Social Justice Committee echoes and follows the promptings of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) on Social teachings of the Roman Catholic Faith. We focus on the dignity of each and every life.
The Parish Hospitality Committee staffs and provides innovative desserts, donuts and Café du Monde beignets to our parishioners following the weekend masses on the final weekend of the month.
The Parish Outreach Committee meets quarterly and is charged with responsibility of distributing the parish tithing budget. In the spirit of mutual collaboration and discernment we distributed approximately Twenty six thousand dollars ($26,000) to various national and international not for profits!
Our Sister Parish Committee plans and co ordinates visits and communications with our extraordinary Sister parish in San Eugenio, 10 miles Southwest of the Tijuana, Otay Border. Parishioners are invited to sojourn to Tijuana, on trips which coincide with the Feast of San Eugenio and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
We try to be the hands and feet of Jesus, the Risen Christ.
All are welcome to join these spiritually invigorating ministries.
